One last post before 2015. Ceiling fixture in the capital building. Compact fluorescent bulbs... Some lobbyist made a ton off that move. Lots of dust webs in there too. #Washingtondc #washington #DC #capitalbuildingdc #capitalbuilding

A fitting Metaphor possibly. But this looks as though they have a plan to fix what's wrong... #dc #dctour #capitalbuilding #capitalbuildingdc ##dome #dcconstruction #washingtondc #congress

Dome of the Capital Building DC. Iphone pano. Didn't realize we would see the effects of the work on the Dome on the inside. Took my Mom, Steve and Annette here over the holiday. Makes me think of a giant powdered donut... #dc #powdereddonught #capitalbuilding #iphonepano #dctour

16mm reel. This rusted reel holds some of the first motion film I ever shot. I bought the real off eBay a long time ago. It wasn't till later after I'd become a photographer and was shooting digital for so long that I saw this in a different light and for the metaphor it became. While film is long from dead I do not think I will be shooting 16mm motion film again. #16mm #16mmfilm #filmreel #filmisnotdead #film #motionpicturefilm #motionfilm #personalwork #rustedreel #rust

Nail farmers. I did a couple of conceptual pieces based on a story I wrote a while back. The project hasn't been abandoned and I hope to return to it at some point. One character is a carpenter hammer the other is a rock hammer. I'm sure some correlation could be made as I spent time as a carpenter and my father was a geologist. Everything was shot separate. In fact I photographed the setting the people and the sky first and then waited about 6 months for my nails to rust properly before photographing them. #conceptual #digitalillustration #composite #nailfarmers #personalwork #tbt #digitalphotography #hammerheads

Last Mantis - At the end of the fall in New Mexico these guys come out of the wood work. You can see the effects of the freezing nights on his eye. As much as I wanted to find one of these as a kid, it wasn't till I was in my mid-thirties before I saw one that wasn't part of a collection. Photographed him on my desk with a sheet of typing paper for my background then put him back out on my porch where I found him. #prayingmantis #mantis #macrophotography #insect #insectphotography

"V" Black on black. I probably post too many pics of my dog Venus but I can't help myself. Just for the record, she is a sweetheart #blackdog #blackbeast #lickingchops #dog #dogphotography #blackandwhite #blackandwhiteportrait #rescuedog #v #k9 #canine
