A quick concept piece for short story that's been sitting around in the cue. Story was more driven by getting experience melding digitally painted characters with photographic backgrounds. A Robot and his mechanical dog visiting the capital was about as deep as the story went with a little tongue and cheeky-ness #digitalpainting #conceptart #robot #illustration #digitalillustration #spaceship #washingtonmonument

Coming Soon...ish. I've been working on a side project (an all age comic) in my free time since last Summer. Some people won't be surprised by this shift of mediums but it was something I needed to explore for myself. I always thought I would go into illustration when I got out of high school but i got caught up in Film and Theater and then engrossed in still imagery. But at the end of the day I’ve always wanted to tell my own stories. Now it seems I've come full circle with this project. It certainly encompasses skills from all my endeavors (maybe even commercial fishing in Alaska) Anyway, it's drawn, inked and scanned. I've painted about 20 pages of 30 and look to have it ready for a printer by the end of the month or first week of February. It's killed me to keep it under wraps as I've enjoyed working on it but I know if I let the cat out too early there is a chance the momentum will fizzle. While its getting printed I'll put together an online presence for it. Not sure this is some kind of career shift just exercising some muscles before they atrophy. #digitalpainting #comic #selfpublishing #selfpublishedcomics #comicbook #comicbookart #comingsoon #laboroflove #deepsea #storytelling
